We work with farms of all sizes in and around the Somerset & Wiltshire area, and that means having the best combination of veterinary facilities onsite at our farm unit in Frome, and mobile diagnostic tools that can be taken to even the most remote farming locations.

As well as having state-of-the-art onsite and mobile facilities, Garston Farm Vets also has a highly qualified and approachable farm veterinary team who are happy to share their knowledge and experience to help you achieve optimum animal health and welfare, as well as grow your business.

Our experienced farm vets can also provide a personal and tailored service that suits the needs of your business. Find out about our farm animal services.

Our mobile diagnostic equipment includes:

  • Portable digital radiography unit

Onsite laboratory

Garston Vets’ onsite laboratory is fully equipped for rapid diagnosis of common conditions, housing our state-of-the-art haematology and biochemistry machines for routine blood tests, haematology and investigation of external parasites.

Having veterinary laboratory facilities onsite means our farm vets get rapid results, which is essential in urgent cases and protecting overall herd health.

With a same-day turnaround of results in most cases, our highly experienced team can offer the best advice and treatment as soon as possible.

External Laboratory Services

When a case requires more specialised tests, we have trusted external laboratory services that we send samples to for testing, on a secure overnight courier. Turnaround is without delay in most cases to assist our farm vets with quick diagnosis and treatment.

Hospitalisation facility

At Garston Farm Vets in Frome, we have a number of outbuildings that we use for day surgery purposes for our smaller patients when they need surgical or medical care, such as vasectomies, hernia operations and sheep/goat caesareans.

Whilst at our facility, your animal will be cared for by our experienced veterinary team until they are ready to return to your farm. Read more about our 24-hour Farm service.
